There are many kinds of communication buses in the connected car today, with Classic Controller Area Network (CAN) and Local Interconnect Network (LIN) running alongside the modern and high speed automotive Ethernet or SerDes. Without a standardized MDI for many of these bus topologies there are a few different connection types. Ultimately enabling you to effectively monitor the traffic on those network to log and test to ensure they work as intended.

Automotive SerDes is a common connection for high-resolution in-vehicle displays such as infotainment or back up cameras. It is a point-to-point architecture with high bandwidth, low baud rates and high orders of modulation employed. Read more in our recent blog.
