Testing satellite transceivers with DVB-S2X signals for conformance and interoperability requires signal analysis under real-world conditions. A single test bed, including a signal analyzer, vector signal generator (VSG), and multiple instrument software applications, enables a broad range of measurements, including swept signal analysis, error vector magnitude (EVM), noise power ratio (NPR), and real-time spectrum analysis (RTSA).

It is ideal for the signal analyzer to control the VSG, so the required DVB-S2X signal setup occurs from a single user interface to eliminate measurement setup error. The signal analyzer searches the demodulated DVB-S2X data to find and display the sync pattern and provides up to 2 GHz bandwidth RTSA. Signal analyzer software applications enable swept signal analysis, EVM, and NPR measurements.

Testing satellite transceiver compliance requires swept signal analysis, RTSA, NPR, and EVM measurements under DVB-S2X signal stimulus. The Keysight PXA signal analyzer, preselected up to 55 GHz, offers full specifications and up to 2 GHz of analysis bandwidth, enabling high-fidelity EVM and displayed average noise level (DANL) to deliver rapid multitone and DVB-S2X measurements. The PXA provides swept signal analysis capabilities and RTSA up to 2 GHz bandwidth. These features enable you to monitor signals in real-time and spot spurious signals with a 100% intercept probability for durations as short as 227 ns. The channel quality and group delay measurement software allows the signal analyzer to take control of the Keysight VXG vector signal generator. The user can then set up all the tones from a single user interface to eliminate measurement setup errors. The vector modulation analysis measurement application captures EVM measurement data up to 55 GHz.
