How to Test DSRC V2X Compliance

Wireless Test Platform

Validating DSRC V2X communications compliance

Achieving optimal vehicle-to-everything (V2X) performance and communication quality requires interoperability and compliance testing to IEEE1609.3/4/2 and SAE J2945/1, plus compliance with the OmniAir Consortium Certification Operating Council (COC) certification standards. Dedicated short-range communications (DSRC) devices must pass demanding and evolving certifications at both the RF and protocol stack layers.

Automotive OEM manufacturers must run RF and protocol tests of the DSRC onboard unit (OBU) and roadside unit (RSU) to achieve certification. Achieving certification requires a vector signal generator, an RF signal analyzer, a transceiver module that supports all DSRC protocols used for OBU and RSU protocol test cases, and an RF switch to create a consistent measurement environment across all RF and protocol measurements. The test also requires a software suite covering all DSRC certification test cases for COC and standards-specific measurements.

V2X DSRC compliance test solution

Validating the performance of DSRC devices for V2X applications requires RF and protocol tests for OBU and RSU certification. The Keysight V2X DSRC test solution validates V2X physical-layer (RF) and protocol conformance based on the OmniAir Consortium’s DSRC test specifications. The solution enables full test automation of OmniAir WAVE-DSRC test cases based on SAE J2945/1, IEEE 802.11p, IEEE 1609.2, IEEE 1609.3, and IEEE 1609.4 standards. The Keysight test automation platform provides powerful, flexible, and extensible test sequences and offers automation capabilities to optimize test software operations and throughput.
