Analyze the CCS Communication Traffic between the EV and EVSE

Identifying the root cause of failed charging sessions is challenging without observing or analyzing the communication channel between an electric vehicle (EV) and electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE).

With the Keysight SL1556A CCS Charging Protocol Tracer (CCS Tracer), a non-invasive Power Line Communication (PLC) sniffer, observe seamlessly the Combined Charging System (CCS) communication channel to get a holistic view and increase your debugging capabilities.

  • Analyze the CCS charging communication traces in detail
  • Decode CCS charging protocols straightforward
  • Start debugging easier and quicker
  • Use flexible operating modes: conductive coupling via a direct Control Pilot (CP) connection or inductive coupling via the optional inductive cable clamp

Enhance Your Debugging Capabilities

Analyze the over-the-wire communication traffic easily and in detail with the SL1556A CCS Tracer in combination with the Keysight SL1487A CCS Charging Protocol Trace Viewer (CPT).

The compact CCS Tracer with the optional inductive cable clamp allows fast in-field debugging. Decode DIN 70121 and ISO 15118-2 and -20 protocols for vehicle-to-grid (V2G) communication (TLS-encrypted) as well as HomePlug Green PHY Powerline Communication MAC layer frames.

In addition, other proprietary messages related to the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) are supported to allow for in-depth analysis of the CP signal or further analysis in conjunction with our Keysight charging test equipment.
