Automotive Radar OTA Test Solution

The Keysight AR8700C Advanced CATR Chamber solution for automotive radar provides a measurement environment for characterizing functionality, performance, and antenna radiation patterns of radar sensors at E-band millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequencies. Use the AR8701C chamber with Keysight test and measurement equipment in a range of applications including device R&D, design validation, functional verification, and ETSI & FCC conformance test.

  • Compact antenna test range (CATR)
    • Shielded anechoic chamber with a rolled-edge reflector
    • Roll-over-azimuth positioner
  • Controller for feed and device under test (DUT) positioners with triggered data acquisition capability
  • Probe feed options for in-band and spurious test frequency ranges
  • Optional calibration kits for chamber validation and calibration
  • LED lighting and camera
  • Lasers for DUT alignment
  • Support for hand and head phantoms
  • E-Band 60-90 GHz antenna options
  • Chamber control software
  • 2D/3D plotting software option

Confidently Accelerate Your Radar Target Test Setups in the Lab or End-of-Line (EOL)

For the radar target simulator test setup, among the challenges, especially when conducted over-the-air (OTA), is accurately simulating the radar-cross-section (RCS). The entire path will contain losses and mismatches that impact accuracy. As a solution, the E8719A target simulator OTA calibration feature provides a highly repeatable, metrology driven automated routine leveraging the small palm-size U9361M Receiver Calibrator as a known calibrated source to perform the OTA calibration. The measured losses can then be fed back into the RTS where adjustments can be made to ensure a well calibrated path for the overall radar target test.
