The W3631B Keysight EDA Power Electronics Bundle is an all-in-one solution for designing power converters utilizing wide bandgap technologies such as Gallium Nitride (GaN) or Silicon Carbide (SiC) power transistors. It offers a comprehensive solution for designing high power electronic systems specializing in the overall impact of board layout parasitics in the overall performance of the power converter. It integrates advanced technologies tailored for layout-based design, facilitating the detection of parasitically induced faults early in the design phase. The tool provides prebuilt test benches to swiftly assess simulated EMI and EMC compliance with international standards. This solution from Keysight encompasses SPICE model import capability, model building functions, circuit simulation, transient analysis, steady state analysis and thermal analysis. In addition, it features Power Electronics Professional (PEPro) which offers post-layout simulation utilizing electromagnetic (EM) solvers. The EM solvers enables the simulation of layout parasitics, and the PEPro design suite introduces a board-level surface current density visualization for identifying areas of current constriction that could affect reliability. Board analysis is supported through methods like the method of moments (MoM) planar simulation and finite element method (FEM) for 3D effects.
