The Keysight’s Scienlab Regenerative DC Emulator - High-Power Series with new Silicon Carbide (SiC) technology is a highly efficient system based on state-of-the-art technology. It allows the user to realistically emulate the electric vehicle battery in charging test applications, such as high-power DC fast charging, when paired with the SL1047A Scienlab Charging Discovery System – High-Power Series. The switching frequency of silicon carbide transistors is greater than 10X when compared to IGBTs. This results in a significantly higher efficiency reducing costs by reducing heat dissipation (lower cooling costs), and lower energy consumption (lower electricity bill). Higher switching frequencies also enable the use of smaller components resulting in a system with a smaller footprint requiring less of your valuable floor space.
