Introduction
This data sheet provides key features and specifications for the fully automated USB-C cable and connector compliance test software which enables test automation with Keysight Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) and L8990M switch matrices system.
The Keysight S94USBCB USB Type-C interconnects compliance test software provides a fast and automated way to test, characterize and debug your USB Type-C design to meet compliance. The compliance test software replaces the conventional manual test process that follows a test MOI. When connects with the L8990M switch matrices system, it enables 4-to-20 ports of switching without manual port reconnection for full compliance test automation. It makes measurements in minutes with just a few simple steps and improves test efficiency up to 90%.
The test plans performed by the S94USBCB compliance test software are based on the latest USB TypeC cable and connector compliance test specification (CTS) and Linear Re-Driver (LRD) active cable CTS released by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF).

S94USBCB interconnects compliance test software covers USB Type-C cable assemblies, connectors, and raw cable test parameters on the latest USB4 Version 2.0, USB4, USB 3.2, USB 3.1, and USB 2.0 technologies. It is also Thunderbolt compatible to test TBT 3 and TBT 4 protocols.

Definition of USB Generations
• USB4 Version 2.0 (80Gbps) is known as USB4 Gen 4.
• USB4 (40Gbps) is known as USB4 Gen 3.
• USB4 (20Gbps) is known as USB4 Gen 2.
• SuperSpeed USB 20Gbps is known as USB 3.2 Gen 2 with dual lanes, which is formerly known as USB 3.1 Gen 2x2.
• SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps is known as USB 3.2 Gen 2 with single lane, which is formerly known as USB 3.1 Gen 2 or USB 3.1 Gen 2x1.
• SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps is known as USB 3.2 Gen 1, which is formerly known as USB 3.1 Gen 1 or USB 3.0.
Flexible Test Configurations
S94USBCB supports a wide range of VNA and test configurations to meet your test requirements and price point. It can run on a 4-port VNA within the bench (E5080B) or on an external PC. For multi-port configurations using a 4-port VNA and L8990M switch matrices system, it enables full automation without manual cable and port reconnections.
