Keysight Gains Connected Vehicle Certification from OmniAir Consortium

As the automotive industry continues to advance software-defined vehicle technology, validating cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) devices is essential. V2X technology allows vehicles to interact and exchange data with elements of their environment. This technology is a critical enabler for achieving full autonomous driving. However, as V2X becomes more prevalent, manufacturers must be proactive in ensuring that safety, performance, and compliance are considered at all stages of V2X technology development and validation. Keysight Technologies has collaborated with the OmniAir Consortium to address this need by re-qualifying its conformance test system.

The OmniAir Consortium is an industry association that promotes interoperability and certification for intelligent transportation systems (ITS), tolling, and connected vehicles. OmniAir has approved Keysight’s Conformance Test System for LTE-V2X on-board units (OBUs) and roadside units (RSUs), which allow manufacturers to verify C-V2X technology in their designs. These tests will be conducted at the OmniAir Authorized Test Laboratory (OATL) facilities.

“The re-qualification of our conformance test system underscores Keysight’s commitment to providing industry-leading solutions for C-V2X testing,” said Thomas Goetzl, Vice President and General Manager for Keysight’s Automotive & Energy Solutions business unit. “This achievement enables our customers to confidently bring LTE-V2X devices to market, ensuring they meet the highest standards of interoperability, performance, and security.”

OmniAir provides full-stack testing and certification for LTE-V2X OBUs, RSUs, and modules. The organization offers independent, third-party testing and certification using validated test cases, qualified test systems, and accredited test laboratories. OmniAir Certified® devices conform to industry standards and meet interoperability, performance, and security requirements.

The testing verification for Keysight was completed at Plugfest in October and at DEKRA-Spain in December. The results are detailed in an audit technical integrity report. Keysight’s team operated two conformance test systems at the recent OmniAir San Diego Plugfest, facilitating Day 1 Readiness testing for all participating devices.
