Validating DSRC V2X communications compliance

Achieving optimal vehicle-to-everything (V2X) performance and communication quality requires interoperability and compliance testing to IEEE1609.3/4/2 and SAE J2945/1, plus compliance with the OmniAir Consortium Certification Operating Council (COC) certification standards. Dedicated short-range communications (DSRC) devices must pass demanding and evolving certifications at both the RF and protocol stack layers.

Automotive OEM manufacturers must run RF and protocol tests of the DSRC onboard unit (OBU) and roadside unit (RSU) to achieve certification. Achieving certification requires a vector signal generator, an RF signal analyzer, a transceiver module that supports all DSRC protocols used for OBU and RSU protocol test cases, and an RF switch to create a consistent measurement environment across all RF and protocol measurements. The test also requires a software suite covering all DSRC certification test cases for COC and standards-specific measurements.
